TEXAS APPROVED FERAL SWINE HOLDING FACILITIES

It is no surprise that the feral hog problem was a topic of discussion at the recent MCA Summer Meeting held in Kerrville.  Some producers have been transporting feral hogs to approved facilities, they are able to dispose of these predators and get paid for the hogs that are turned in.  Note that some of these buyers are using these animals for sale to hunting properties but some are purchasing them for slaughter.  Call ahead to the buyer to be sure you agree with how the animals will be utilized. State of Texas Agriculture Relief Fund
Recently, firefighters struggled to contain some of the worst wildfires in Texas history. Commissioner Staples is calling on Texans to lend a helping hand to those affected by the fires by making a donation to the

State of Texas Agriculture Relief Fund, or STAR Fund.

The fund was created to collect monetary contributions from private individuals and entities to assist farmers and ranchers in responding to and recovering from an emergency. The STAR Fund may be used to rebuild fences, restore operations and pay for other agricultural relief efforts.
